Dara O’Brien (Ireland) and Debajyoti Sanyal (India) return to Cork for a mixture of Indian classical and contemporary music. They present the ancient, improvised classical tradition through raga (melody) and tala (rhythm). They also experiment with the sonic possibilities of the iconic instruments, sitar and tabla. No booking necessary, pay by donation.
Join this celebratory and spiritual Harvest Jazz service at Cork’s most historic church - a morning of jazz joy featuring the St. John’s Gospel Choir and New York Brass Band from U.K. Admission free by ticket only. Tickets will be available from St. Anne’s, Shandon from Mon Oct 12th. Be Early!
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. In Ireland it operates 45 lifeboat stations and 58 lifeboats where 1,414 people were rescued in 2014.The RNLI relies on volunteers to provide its life-saving service. RNLI volunteers will be selling raffle tickets throughout the Festival weekend in order to raise money for these vital services. The ticket draw will take place on Sunday night at the Festival Club.
Following a global distribution deal with a USA based record label, The Art Crimes Band returns to the historic Cork City Gaol and Radio Museum for a much awaited festival concert. This show will also see the group officially launch their debut album entitled ‘Radio’. A festival favourite - not to be missed
